One brick at a time is how it was made.
I built my own hell and all the pain it gave.
One brick at a time, to torment myself
all the insecurities can’t be good for my health.
One brick at a time I was buried alive!
Would it send me crazy? Would I ever survive?
One brick at a time I built my own hell
can I knock it down? Or give my soul to sell?
One brick at a time it comes crashing down!!!
I built my own hell
NOW I’M PULLING IT DOWN!!!!

Whether we like it or not, the way we think about ourselves plays a huge role in our day to day lives.
People with low self-esteem may find the smallest of issues to be frighteningly overwhelming.
No one should have to feel as though they are not good enough; these thoughts can send a person into further depression and even lead to suicide.
I cannot stress enough, how important it is to have someone you can talk to.
So how do you boost yourself up when you’re feeling down?
Poetry can be an amazing outlet. The poem above is one I wrote myself when I was feeling low one day. You can put in all your emotions and it doesn’t even matter if it makes sense. I find reading previously written poems can help to look back and relate to issues in a more positive way.
You can see how you felt at the time and reflect on how that may or may not be different now, whether or not you still feel the same isn’t the important part though, learning to deal with our emotion and to express yourself gives you a freedom that may be just what you needed to lift yourself up.
