Make-Up Haul: Initial Reviews

photo (18)As soon as I got home for Spring Break, I could not resist a make-up haul. Especially since Sears had a lot of make up on sale and the new Iman BB Crème had hit the shelves.  (I told you I would be purchasing it, didn’t I?)  But I also got new eye liner, mascara and a new eyebrow pencil.  Last but not least, I got a new 120 color eye shadow palette for 5 dollars!  Sears is a great place to buy make up.  You can almost always find a good deal but, I’m rambling.  Here is what I think of these products after using them daily for a little more than a week.

NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil:  An eyebrow pencil is an eyebrow pencil.  You usually can’t go wrong unless you use the wrong color.  NYX goes above and beyond however, by making an automatic eyebrow pencil.  No more sharpening!  It also has an eyebrow brush attached.  Now you have everything you may need to groom you eyebrows in one handy tool.

Revlon Color Stay Liquid Eye Pen:  This is literally the best eyeliner I’ve ever used.  It gives you the definition of liquid eyeliner with the control of a pencil!  No more sloppy eyeliner.  No more unnoticeable eyeliner.  Achieve your desired winged liner look with ease.  While the Revlon Color Stay eyeliner is pretty expensive—approx. $10—it is undoubtedly worth the buy.

Maybelline New York Cat Eyes Mascara: There’s an upside and down side to this mascara.  This mascara does create a great cat eye effect with your lashes.  It’s really cool however; you trade defined and full lashes for this cool effect.  I like this mascara but I think I would prefer defined and full lashes than a cat eye effect that isn’t really that dramatic.  This is just my personal preference.

JLB Cosmetics 120 Color Eye Shadow Palette:  I got this eye shadow palette for five dollars and I’m impressed with the quality considering the price.  It has a nice selection of colors.  It has mostly natural colors and a few special occasion shades.  This works perfectly for me since I don’t really get to daring with my eye make-up.  You will need some kind of primer or base with this eye shadow since it fades easily.

Iman BB Crème:  Here’s what you were probably waiting for.  If you remember from my article a few months back, I love Iman Cosmetics and I could not wait for this product to release.  It has skin brightening extracts in it so it’s good if you have hyperpigmentation.  It is very smooth on the skin and lasts all day.  I would say it gives about a medium coverage and it feels very light on the skin.  I’m very happy with this product.  It’s the perfect product for your everyday face routine!  For more coverage just apply concealer to problem areas before applying the BB Crème.

  1. Hi, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar
one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam comments?
If so how do you stop it, any plugin or anything you can suggest?

I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any assistance is very much appreciated.

  2. First of all I would like to say superb blog! I had
a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing.
I have had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15
minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin.

Any suggestions or tips? Many thanks!

    • Thank you! One thing that I try to do before writing is think about what the audience wants to read. From there my mind is clear and I’m focused on what I want to say.

  3. I do believe all the ideas you’ve introduced in your post.
They are really convincing and can definitely work.
Nonetheless, the posts are too quick for novices.
May you please extend them a little from next time? Thank you for the
    post.
